A Tale of Two Billy’s
How I ended up working with a former NFL star and a popular TV host — both named Billy
Imagine that your middle name is William and the first two major celebrities that you work with are both named Billy. Coincidence? Maybe. Maybe not…
The tale of the first Billy begins in Detroit, where I had recently gone through a difficult divorce. My life seemed to be falling apart, and I was miserable.
My ex-wife was living in the house we used to own jointly, while I was essentially homeless and staying in hotels. This was hardly the pinnacle of my professional or personal life.
Then I met Billy Sims, a former All-Pro running back for the Detroit Lions who won the Heisman Trophy in 1978.
I had put numerous Craigslist ads for properties for lease in Oakland County, MI . I reasoned that because leases are simple to complete and I would earn a fast commission.
By chance, Billy contacted me about a house and said he was searching for a corporate lease so he wouldn’t have to stay in hotels every time he came to town. He owns the Billy Sims BBQ restaurants in Michigan, and he also makes appearances in town for autograph signings and personal appearances.
I initially mistook it for a scam.
But, lo and behold, I was invited to a fundraising event at Berry Gordy’s former estate in the Boston-Edison historic district, where I met Billy Sims in person, and this was not a scam!
We hit it off right away, and he asked me to another fundraising event at the Yacht Club downtown. It was a beautiful day, and I met a few other celebrities and politicians.
We started working together with his partner, Chief. Chief was both intelligent and ambitious. He was the operation’s brains and was in charge of everything behind the scenes. I admired Chief, and he served as my mentor during our time together. They made me a minority shareholder in a newly founded investment business. Because of Billy’s popularity, we met and interacted with a lot of high-profile people and millionaires.
Things carried on for nearly a year, but the business never took off, and neither of us made any money.
I had two young kids and was still struggling after my divorce, so I had to make the difficult decision to split ways with Billy and Chief and concentrate on earning money.
Thus ends the tale of the first Billy…
The tale of the second Billy begins during the pandemic of 2020.
With a state-wide shut down in effect on both of my professional licenses, I had a lot of extra time on my hands which I spent surfing YouTube channels and watching Prime Video.
Seeking to expand my mind and become open to new concepts and world views, I began to watch videos on ancient civilizations and alternative historical narratives.
This is when I discovered the brilliant and enigmatic man known as Billy ‘4BiddenKnowledge’ Carson.
He was speaking on a show called ‘Coast to Coast’ with host George Noory and I was completely blown away by his confidence, delivery and knowledge on the topics of ancient civilizations.
For those who may not know, Billy Carson is the CEO of 4BiddenKnowledge Inc. and owner of 4BiddenKnowledge TV network. He has made appearances on several other TV networks including the Travel Channel, History channel and Gaia TV. He is also a social media star with millions of followers worldwide.
I instantly became a fan of Billy and subscribed to his TV network. With so much new and intriguing content, I stayed glued to the television for hours at a time. I fell asleep watching his programs and woke up watching his programs for about a month straight.
Recently while watching his Meditation Mondays show, he made a call out to bloggers for his website.
With swift action, I sent an email to his business manager and director of operations Elisabeth Hoekstra, along with a link to my articles here on Medium.
Not thinking that there was a real chance since my blogs are about real estate, I was pleasantly surprised when hearing back from Elisabeth saying that she liked my work and offered a guest blogging spot on 4biddenknowledge.com.
Some of you may know that I host a podcast called ‘How To Buy The Hood’ on REH TV. The ‘hood’ is defined as ‘the underpriced and often overlooked neighborhoods in urban communities’.
The show is focused on showing those that live within these ‘hoods’ how to invest in real estate and take advantage of the opportunities that exist within these overlooked areas.
While watching a YouTube video that Billy was starring in, he mentioned that he once owned 400+ properties prior to the crash back in the 2007–2008 era.
This immediately peaked my interest because this was fact about Billy that few of his fans are aware of and also because my career is real estate.
Taking swift action again, I spoke with Elisabeth and asked if her and Billy would consider being guests on my podcast. Elisabeth is also a licensed real estate agent with extensive experience in buying and selling houses.
It was a long shot due to him being famous and in high demand.
Remarkably my request was granted and they recently made a special guest appearance on the show. This was his first ever appearance on a real estate only podcast. It was an absolute honor.
This is a tale of two Billy’s. Billy Sims and Billy Carson. Two celebrities who couldn’t be more different yet now loosely linked together through an association with one Mr. AnThony Legins.
“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.” ― Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities
Now within ‘the spring of hope’ and ‘the season of light’, this tale shall end in the sanguine aspiration of a propitious partnership.
